Before Documenta in Kassel, I am packing my bags for Reykjavik Arts Festival, the Festspillene in Bergen and for interviewing the directors of the artist run space 1857 during their program with Kaleidoscope Magazine at the Roma Contemporary fair.

Please find my Dagbladet articles listed here. Most recent: an interview on the exhibition by painter Sylvia Sleigh in Kunstnernes Hus in Oslo, and my reports from the 7t Berlin Biennale.

What’s with the human kind’s endless fascination with 3D? Why do we (still) get a kick out of the illusion of three dimensional space? An article of mine about the stereoscope, the invention from 1838 that first enabled us to see images in 3D, will be published in the next edition of Vinduet. See the stereoscope in use here (Terrence Malick: Badlands, 1973).

Soon off to New York to cover the Performa 11 Biennial plus a few more selected art events for Dagbladet.

11/09/11

This fall, I started working for the daily newspaper Dagbladet, where I’ll be covering the visual arts field as a critic and writer. So far I reviewed the popular, but always critically battered annual Høstutstillingen in Oslo and made an attempt at the mandatory art-after-terror essay; this weekend I visited Bergen Kunsthall‘s new group show Details, curated by What, How and for Whom + got a brief look at their second opening this weekend, a nice show by Hanne Mugaas (of Art since the summer of 1969-fame) called Chaos as usual – and then interviewed my friend, Swedens wisest comic strip author Martin Kellerman. Check out Orosdi-Back’s new series of books with artist interviews coming out in Sweden, one of which is featuring Martin.

Next, I’m handing in a review for Artforum.com (Critics’ Picks), and in July I’ll be writing about the Lutz-Rainer Müller & Stian Ådlandsvik project «You only tell me you love me when you’re drunk» (2010) for KORO‘s annual publication.
